Information you provide
Spez stores your account email, profile and preferences, account balances, income and expense entries, categories, budgets, savings goals, tasks, and AI chat history. The contents depend on what you choose to enter.
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, rather than plain text. Session tokens and password recovery codes are stored as hashes. Recovery email is sent using Resend.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate your account, show your budget and plans, recover account access, provide requested AI coaching, manage Pro access, respond to support requests, and delete your account when requested.
AI coaching
When you send the AI coach a question, your question and a limited summary are sent to OpenAI: your currency and month, monthly totals, category budget names and amounts, goal names and progress, up to 50 recent transactions (type, amount, category, and date), and up to 40 open tasks (title, due date, and priority). Transaction notes are not part of this summary.
Spez requests AI responses with storage disabled at the API level. This does not mean all provider processing or retention is eliminated. Questions and answers are saved in your Spez conversation history. Avoid putting sensitive information into a question unless it is necessary.
Service providers and purchases
OpenAI processes AI requests. Resend delivers account recovery emails. RevenueCat helps verify Pro subscription entitlements. Apple and Google handle purchases through their stores; Spez does not collect your payment card details. Hosting providers process the requests necessary to serve the app and website.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their processing and retention are governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices. See OpenAI, Resend, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google.
This website
This static website does not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or application cookies. Images and styles are served locally. GitLab Pages hosting may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs under GitLab’s privacy statement. Following store or support links takes you to the relevant external service or your email application.
Retention and deletion
Your app data is kept while your account is active. You can delete the account in Profile or send a deletion request. This removes linked account data from Spez’s active database. External provider records, any required legal records, and any infrastructure backups may have separate retention practices. Contact us for details applicable to your request.
Your choices
You can edit your entries, choose whether to use AI coaching, and request account deletion. For access, correction, export, or other privacy requests available in your location, email [email protected]. We may need to verify account ownership. Never send passwords or recovery codes.
Security and changes
Spez uses account authentication and hashed credentials. No service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the app or its providers change; the date above identifies this version.
